Hi! I'm Ryan :)

I’m an AI researcher and designer passionate about creativity, education, and art.

I was born in Wuzhou, China, and moved to Albany, CA when I was 10. Growing up, I loved speedcubing (my best was around 9 seconds) and playing Go. Through high school, I became obsessed with math (algebraic and differential topology) as well as portraiture (painting), while finding my communities in student organizations and giving back through student leadership.

Those interests led me to Stanford, where I’m exploring AI, design, math, and art as a first-generation low-income student.

Currently, I'm working on an independent art project under Lauren Toomer, conducting CS research under Nava Haghighi, working as a gallery attendant, and juggling random design ideas!

As I look to what’s next, I hope to leverage both my creative and technical background to help teams design AI and digital experiences, research AI techniques and applications, and develop software products and tools.
